大多数物体在大多数时候都是静止的，也是平庸的，一粒玉米也拥有其注定成为食物或饲料的命运。但它在空中自由落体的时的状态却似乎超越了这一切。它的形态不断改变，旋转、拉长，坠落是它目的以外的旅程，运动给予了它另一种身体，这个过程转瞬即逝，用肉眼总是无法完全将其捕捉。
我试图尽可能的延展这些瞬间。我选择了一粒干玉米，让它高处总共下落了1000米的里程，详细的记录它下落的姿态，10000张照片剪辑成的影像还原玉米的下落过程，半透明材料构成的装置则形成了完整的下落档案。随着下落速度越来越快，玉米的形象从依稀的虚影，到几乎无法辨认形态的长条，这些形象越来越脱离物体本身，另一种生机与张力开始显现。这组作品给了一粒玉米莫大的尊重，我很欣慰它可以经历这一切。
Most objects, most of the time, remain still and ordinary. A single corn kernel also carries its predetermined fate as food or animal feed. Yet in free fall, its state seems to exceed all of this. Its form is constantly changing—rotating, stretching, elongating. The act of falling grants it a journey beyond its assigned destiny; motion gives it another kind of body. These moments are fleeting and can never be fully captured by the human eye.
I attempt to extend these instants as far as possible. I chose a single dried corn kernel and let it fall a total distance of 1000 meters from a high point. I carefully recorded its descending posture and composed 10,000 images into a complete archival record of its fall through photography and editing. As the falling speed increases, the image of the corn shifts from a faint silhouette to an almost unrecognizable elongated form. These forms gradually detach from the object itself, revealing another kind of vitality and tension.This body of work offers a corn kernel an immense degree of respect. I am grateful that it was able to undergo this entire process.

All images from the process of a corn kernel falling 1000 meters are printed on transparent material. The upper-right corner of each semi-transparent image is marked with the distance already fallen. Arranged vertically at equal intervals in sequence and inserted into metal slots, these images together form a large-scale installation. Each image can be individually removed and viewed, serving both to display and archive the different forms of the corn kernel at every moment of its descent.
